Michael Seium Production LogoMichael Seium was born in the horn of Africa nation of Eritrea and came to the United States in his early teenage years after having been and living in several countries including the isle of Malta where he went to a private boarding school. Mike attended South Hagerstown High School and Hagerstown Junior College where he excelled in Soccer, Wrestling and Tennis as well as being an honor student; he attended Francis Marion College on a soccer scholarship where he helped the Patriots become one of the top notch programs in the country. Michael graduated with a bachelors of Science in Political Science and minors in Mass communications & Geography.

While in College Mike landed an internship with the CBS Affiliate in Florence, South Carolina where he got his first exposure in Television by covering sports as a producer/videographer/editor. Working in competition with the likes of Stuart Scott of ESPN and many other top market sports directors Mike was also covering News as a producer/videographer/editor in the Carolinas for more than 5 years.As an official reporter/producer of the US National soccer team Mike had the opportunity to travel and cover the US world cup soccer team in 1994 working for a show known as "Soccer 94" on Home Team Sports.

Mike also worked in Baltimore for the NPPA (National Press Photographers Association) best videography station FOX-45 WBFF-TV as a Live truck photojournalist. Mike joined Cox Broadcasting where he worked as a photojournalist in 1998 and covered imp ortant Washington news stories including the Monica Lewinski Scandal and the presidential elections and conventions as well as many stories. Mike went on to work at the Washington News Network an independent news company as Director of Operations in conjunction with Michael Seium Productions, owned and operated by Michael Seium himself. He then moved on to help launch the Al Jazeera International (English version) TV network as a senior Satellite producer and part time sports/news & Programming  producer. Mike was also a co-host of the show "Africa meets Africa" for two years on WPFW-89.3 FM in the Washington D.C metro area. Mike contributes to many websites and even has a sports blog known as ERI-INTERNATIONAL SPORTS.

Mike is active in youth movements and has helped many young journalists and TV personalities by being a mentor and advisor. Giving back and empowering the community is a big part of Mike's life and it is with this in mind that "Michael Seium Productions was created as an affiliate of Bilen Broadcast and media consulting services.
